  1. Boston University’s teaching fellows and research fellows do not have unemployment insurance. This is despite the fact that we receive weekly W-2 salaries, and that we perform almost all the grading, most of the teaching, and virtually all of the research.

    The university does not function without us, but if we are hit by COVID19, we will not get unemployment protection.
